Donna Fargo, born Yvonne Vaughn on November 10, 1945, in Mount Airy, NC, is a Grammy-winning country singer-songwriter best known for 1970s hits "The Happiest Girl in the Whole U.S.A." and "Funny Face." Fargo was one of the few female country artists of the era to write and compose and perform material reaching the Billboard Hot 100. She had multiple Top 10 country hits and earned awards from the Academy of Country Music and the Country Music Association. Diagnosed with MS in 1978, Fargo continued her successful career with a string of albums and singles. She hosted her own TV show in the late 1970s, and wrote for country stars like Tammy Wynette and Dottie West.
