It’s a great day to hear Arnold Richardson and Netye Lynch perform snatches of traditional courting songs, handed down from the Sapponi and Tuscarora Indians. In an installment of the DNCR (@ncculture)’s “Singing on the Land,” Richardson plays a flute he carved from red cedar while Lynch drums, and Richardson provides historical narration between performances. This mini-doc of featuring the pair was recorded at Magazine Spring in Historic Halifax(@historichalifaxnc), a sacred site long important to the Haliwa-Saponi tribe.
