Rosali Middleman’s (@rosalimusic) roots are Philly-through-and-through, but for some years now made the Triangle home. Rosali put out her most recent album, 2024's BITE DOWN on Merge Records (@mergerecords), and has collaborated with Spinster (@spinstersounds), another label with NC roots. Her music hits that satisfying sweet spot between Crazy Horse-era Neil Young and more tender singer-songwriting. Her lyrics are hard-edged but romantic in the sense that they accept confusion, bitterness, and emotional disturbance as inevitable, but always worth fighting against (and through).
