Rhiannon Giddens' festival BISCUITS & BANJOS (@biscuitsandbanjos) in Durham is just around the corner, and we’re so excited! From April 25-27, the gathering dedicated to “the reclamation and exploration of Black music, art, and culture” will offer a packed line-up of bands, authors, and chefs to attendees. And the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources will be there providing a full docket of fun and educational activities. Come to the DNCR Airstream in the Pinhook parking – there’ll be a community art project, a reading by folklorist and public historian Michelle Lanier, an instrument “petting zoo,” seed planting with NC History Museum curator Earl Ijames, NC Music Trail postcards and recipes from the NC Museum of History, and more!
